2026 WEAT Biosolids Beauty Contest Entry Form

The Biosolids Beauty Contest’s goal is to raise awareness and provide the deserved recognition for great work utilities do with processing biosolids. Biosolids are a nutrient rich by-product from the wastewater treatment process that has many reuse benefits.

Submittal Rules and Requirements:

• Submit a maximum of one biosolids Sample and one Creative Display per utility. Utilities with multiple plants may enter a maximum of one Sample and one Creative Display for each plant.
  • 3/18/2026 Clarification: If a Utility has a plant which produces multiple classes of biosolids (e.g., Class A and Class B biosolids), the Utility may submit one Sample of each class from the plant
• Submitted biosolids must be Class B, Class AB, or Class A with a minimum cake concentration of 16% total solids. Post-processing (such as composting) is allowed.
• Sample(s) must be hand-delivered in a labelled, sealed, disposable, 1-quart (maximum) container. Samples will be transferred by Contest volunteers into containers without utility or plant-identifying information for anonymous judging.
• Utility or plant-identifying information is allowed on Creative Display(s).

Submittal Process:

• Submit your information in the below online Registration Form Fields to register for the contest.
• Hand-deliver your Sample(s) and Creative Display(s) to the Biosolids Beauty Contest Booth in the Exhibit Hall on Tuesday, April 28th, by 11:00 am.
• Judges will vote on Samples for best Class B, Class AB, and Class A biosolids based on texture, smell, dryness, and appearance/color. Judges will also vote on Creative Displays for the Most Creative Presentation. Judging will be from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm on Tuesday, April 28th.
• Conference Attendees will be able to vote via QR code for their favorite Sample and Creative Display to win the People’s Choice award. Voting will close at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, April 28th.
• Sample(s) and container(s) will be thrown away after judging. Contact Person(s) listed in the Registration Form must remove their Creative Display(s) by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 28th. Any Creative Display(s) remaining after 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 28th will be thrown away.
• Winners of the Biosolids Beauty Contest will be awarded at the WEAT Operations Awards & Biosolids Beauty Contest Ceremony on Wednesday, April 29th from 2:45 pm-4:00 pm.
